Everything rises and falls on leadership. The truth of this statement is generally seen in Africa. The magnitude of genocides, rapid spread of HIV/AIDS, widespread corruption, and other multitudes of problems all point to the weakness of leadership across the board.
It should not surprise you that churches also have a leadership deficit. With over 18,000 new decisions to follow Jesus a day, the African Church is in desparate need of healthy leaders.
Yet, the majority of church leaders in East Africa have not been trained in leadership and have little education. They often get discouraged with continued stunted growth in their churches and a lack of effectiveness in their leadership. “Mist in the pulpit is fog in the pews!” If the church leaders are not clear and frustrated, then how much more will the hearers be? A lack of healthy leadership only compounds the problems of those that follow.
We have received more requests for leadership training from churches, than we are able to do. We are seeing a wave of hunger amongst pastors to change the ways of their leadership. We believe God is moving them towards change now!
By coaching and training these pastors towards healthy, Biblical leadership, the pastors are feeling released to effectively lead their church and to win others to Christ.
